At Ashwood House Private Nursing Home, Glengormley, we strongly believe that our home revolves around the service we provide to our residents not only in the care provided but in the home’s holistic approach. Our dedicated staff pay particular attention to ensuring residents’ core issues such as privacy, dignity, independence, fulfilment and rights are fully met.
Our Vision is to ensure the safe effective delivery of quality nursing care. We provide comfortable, high quality facilities for our residents; all thirty two bedrooms are tastefully decorated and are equipped with television points for Freesat/Sky TV and a nurse call system which enables residents to call staff day or night. In addition, rooms have wash hand basins or vanity units. The home has eight single and two double rooms with en suite facilities. The building is centrally heated throughout.
The high standards of the building are also reflected in the care we provide. Ashwood Private Nursing Home Glengormley is family run and we believe in taking a close personal interest on a daily basis and being available for residents and relatives should they have any queries. Our Vision is to make Ashwood a home from home.
Under the professional guidance of its Nurse Manager, Anne-Marie Clyde, the home provides an exceptionally high standard of both nursing and social care. Residents can be assured of being cared for by qualified nursing staff who have been carefully selected for both their experience and sensitivity. Our staff continually received updated training on topics such as manual handling, protection of vulnerable adults and fire safety.
At Ashwood Private Nursing Home, we believe that it is vitally important to listen and cater to the individual needs of all residents. Through regular consultation, relative forums and questionnaires we gather feedback and ideas from the residents and then adjust our services accordingly to meet these requirements.
We have our own private inspector who formerly worked for the RQIA but today is self employed. She (or one of her employees) comes to Ashwood every month to inspect the medical records, policies, talk to residents their families and staff members to gain feedback on how they feel about the place. They provide us with a report of Suggestions\Recommendations for improvement, with these people behind us we are always ready for the RQIA to walk in.
